You may be surprised. The really big mouthpieces seem not to work that well on the really big tubas. My biggest Doug Elliott is nearly out of control on the Holton. The PT-48 is much shallower and has a smaller throat, and is much easier to control.

You might, however, consider a mouthpiece with more of a funnel shape for the Holton. The big, American-style 6/4 tubas seem to work well with some variation of the Helleberg. The Miraphone Rose Orchestra might be a good choice if you like the Miraphone mouthpieces. For me, the PT-48 gives the sound a bit more definition and clarity than the Rose Orchestra, and it speaks more easily than my smaller Doug Elliott.
