Hi all,
Now, if money were no object, I'd pay Sande MacMorran of the Knoxville Symphony to record tapes of the Snedecor low etudes. His concept of tone helps produce a sound that's as close to perfect as I would ever want to hear. I really enjoy listening to him play. The only CD I know of featuring Sande is an album of Kenneth Jacobs' music for brass quintet called Sandcastles.
CD's I use with my students to focus on developing a better concept of a characteristic tuba sound are Gene Pokorny's Tuba Tracks and Floyd Cooley's The Romantic Tuba.
