Satin-silver is the easiest finish to "do" on an old sousa, because any old sousaphone can be converted to this finish without "undoing" anything.

Perhaps combining my instruments with some from (Lee?) (Taylor Music?) (etc?) your friend could get for or five nice old THICK-metal instruments for significantly less than THIN-metal new ones...He could chose from "no case", "SKB plastic case", "fiberboard case", "standard wood case", or "BIG BRUTE" (lifetime) wood case".
