I do not depreciate the small stuff. I think life expectancy of less than 7 years is a determining factor. Granted a mouthpiece would last longer than that but I am not going to depreciate a $70 item. Replating would be a repair. Software does not last that long before it is obsolete and sheet music would often have to be replaced by that time. I am not a tax expert by any means however. I think these would defeinitley come under the "supplies" heading.
