I rarely start a thread, but, what the heck.

How many of you guys and gals caught the MJT performance at TMEA in San Antonio, yesterday? I, for one, did. I enjoyed it very much. We got to hear improv solos from all members of the group. It was also nice to hear a vocal soloist with the tubas and euphs. I thought they made really good use of the contrast.

Along the same line, I think Winston Morris is one class act. He handles himself well both on and off the stage. And what he has contributed to tuba and euphonium players, music, and the like, ranks him among the great ones. In my book, he does not received as much acclaim as he deserves. I was impressed with him and MJT. In addition to that, those of us who got to hear the Tenn Tech Tuba Ensemble heard one fine college group. They are also to be congratulated. Winston Morris--you da man! Thank you for your contributions to the tuba/euph world.
