Hey Martin!

How are things in Carrolton? I just found out TODAY that you're working at West Georgia. They have good people there... now they have another. Scott McBride seems to be a very good supporter for the low brass area.

I have used both mutes and I prefer the Silent Brass even though the Wick blows a little more freely. I avoid using practice mutes unless I have to, but living in a duplex now, I've got to use it once in a while. Durability is a factor if you're using it on the road. The shape of the Wick lends itself to getting beat up while the Silent Brass is shaped better for travel.

Intonation on the Silent Brass is better. I don't use the electronics on it anymore. To me, that is a toy that is attached to the tool.

Good luck with the tuba conference in April.

Best,

Alan
