The DW is the freer blown one.

However I prefer to do my work-out (flexibility, scales, intervals) on the SB, as I find that it gives me a better surplus in all respects for when I play open.

In an experimenting phase, I rigged the DW with a smal clip microphone and plugged it via a pre-amplifier into the SB portable amplifier.

That gave a reasonably natural sound, and so did the SB mute. I don't use the electronics since more than 2 years now.

I will say, that both are good tools in a practise situation. For the combination of my YEP-641 and my Yeo signature mouthpiece I intuetively take the SB. but I use the DW for my de Prins 3+2 Saxhorn basse in Bb, because it has a narrower bell, that will not take the SB.

Sorry not to be able to give a clearcut reply.

Klaus
