A very easy solution it to find a front-action horn that you really like (other than it being front action) and have your repairman move the leadpipe receiver far off the bell. I think Allied has/had a generic leadpipe brace that allows the insertion of an arbitrarily long hunk of rod between the part that attaches to the bell and the part that attaches to the leadpipe receiver. The result is that the bell moves far enough to your left to allow clear vision with BOTH eyes. My Minnick-Keefer BBb with its 20" bell has this feature and I can see clearly with either eye.

Somewhere in an old issue of the Instrumentalist, Bob Pallansch wrote an article asking why tubas aren't built like oval euphoniums, where the bell curves away from the player.
