Band in a box is pretty cool. Essentially, you input a chord progression and a style (samba/ blues/ etc)and it plays a rhytm pad that is stylistically accurate. It is really good for use in the teaching of jazz improve. It is midi based so you can load the music into a notation program and have istant arrangements. They are a bit generic, but will work in a pinch. I am sure there are other uses for it.
