I would not use the Rudolf Meinl definition, because it only describes Rudolf Meinl instruments. The 4/4 Rudy is as big as most other's 5/4 instruments, and the 5/4 Rudy is massive, with a 20" bell and a throat to match.
But I'd bet that the York-copy or Holton 6/4 tubas have a faster taper than a RM 5/4 tuba, just as my piston York Master 4/4 has a faster taper than my Miraphone 4/4, even though the latter has a larger valve bore.
