My private teacher handed me this brochure that is primarily in French. It is a competition that is held in Guebwiller, France, and is called the "prestige des Cuivres, Concours international Phillip Jones". Does anyone know anything about this competition? Any of the judges or regular competitors? The prize is 4600 euros, and thats quite a bit of money in dollars. So it must be big. Thats my guess. I found out from one of the best I have heard play that it used to be the World Euphonium Competition and people on the level of Tormod Flatten attend. Any info is greatly appreciated.
