My understanding from people who have been rejected from the BSO tape round before is that there is a "grievance" process after not being accepted. There are current members of the BSO (I have been told) that were rejected from the tape round, yet came and won.

I think the process involves you submitting two letters of recommendation (I don't think a letter from your mother will do the job). There are audition slots available for this scenario. If you want more details, contact the orchestra. If they don't accept your letters, I would not recommend showing up the day of the audition expecting to play.

By all means contact the BSO if you think you were unfairly eliminated. Good luck!!!
