I think Silent Brass in general (my experience is only with horn) is the same as any practice mute, in terms of how it affects your playing. It is very, very soft, which makes it ideal for practicing in hotels, but the sound quality is very different from unmuted, and of course the resistance is much higher. I find that if I use it very much, it messes up my technique, because the use of air is so different. YMMV.
