I can't say what Daryl's reason was for replacing it, but I wanted to do that to mine because the original was very awkwardly positioned. Walter Sear went through quite a battle with the DePrins factory over the mouthpipe angle, and the result was an ugly, awkward mess. It's a shame because the instrument could have been great.
