There are many ways to set up a fifth valve, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. What you choose depends upon the quirks of your instrument and the type of music that you want to play. Several possible five-valve fingering charts are described on the Tuba-logic website, and there is also a downloadable spreadsheet to help you figure out your own.
