As a composer as well as euphonium player, I think it very important to purchase music that you wish to play. Especially since the music is easily obtainable from TUBA press, and their prices are very reasonable, I see no reason not to buy it. I will occasionally borrow a copy of a solo I am interested in performing, but once I decide it is a piece I enjoy, I will buy my own copy.
