Friends and Colleagues:
The San Jose Symphony, conducted by music director Leonid Grin, has
announced the first in what is hoped to be a series of "benefit
concerts," to be held on February 23, 8 PM at the Center for the
Performing Arts (CPA), corner of Almaden and San Carlos in San Jose.
The program will feature Jon Nakamatsu, winner of the Van Cliburn
Piano Competition and Silicon Valley native, playing Rachmaninoff's
Piano Concerto #3. The orchestra will additionally perform A Festive
Overture, by Shostakovitch, and conclude with Beethoven's 5th
Symphony.
For ticket information, please call the San Jose Symphony Box Office
at
(408) 288-2828.
We hope that as many of you as possible will be able to attend this
event and support the survival of the Symphony in our community. For
those who cannot attend but wish to offer their support, please call
the San Jose Symphony offices at (408) 287-7383 to learn about future
concert offerings, subscriptions, and how to make donations.
Please forward this message to everyone you know who might be
interested (and even those who might not--you never know!). Also, tell
your friends, relatives, colleagues and neighbors about this concert.
