At first I was also a little confused about how to reach the 2nd valve slide...lo and behold I discovered that if I reach with one finger through the 3rd valve slide it works quite well. One other thing is that a lot of "water" collects in the 1st valve slide on top, so I have to tip the horn and pull the 1st slide a lot to empty. Also, lots of "water" collects in the 4th valve tubing that does not have a slide or spit vavle, so I have to rotate the horn counter-clockwise often also.
These are just very small annoyances. I love this baby.
