That may be true, but I found myself with a new CC all of one week before the start of university and found that the adjustment period wasn't really that big a deal.
If ease of fingering transition is your only reason then I'd go for a BBb for now and worry about upgrading to a CC later on, i.e. in an environment that doesn't subject horns to constant danger of dents like a high school.
