I would have high regard for any teacher that is encouraging and patient. Sometimes things seem like too much, but regardless of how terrible a student perceives his/herself, a good teacher can keep that student going and be encouraging. Also, those who give lots of their own time to help their students succeed (or just struggle through something) are in possession of one of the best traits possible for a teacher. IMHO
