Way back when the earth was cooling and I was in college, my teacher shared a thought with me that I found to be fantastic (I'm sure that many of you have heard it, and I'm pretty sure that he got it from someone else, but anyway...)! It's not the amount of time that you spend on the task, but rather the mastery of the task itself that is important. If you've slotted two hours to master a task and it only takes twenty minutes...MOVE ON to something that needs more work! Practice time spent on something that is already mastered is "entertaining yourself" rather than practicing. Conversely, if the task isn't mastered within that two hour session, you have to find more time to complete the task. In the end, you are rarely asked about how much you practiced if you play your material correctly on a regular basis.
