Actually, there were three manufacturers- The Zeiss BBflat I had was made by B&S in (then) East Gernmany. I, too, replaced the linkages but the valves overall were quitee decent. Intonation was fine except for the fifth partial. I used 1-2 for D, 2-3 for Dflat, and 4 for C.
