i play a renolds BBb tuba (made aprox 1951) it was very very tarnished so i just bought a big bag of rags (like the ones you buy for shop use) and used some cleaning stuff that i found under my kitchen sink. i cant member what it was but it wokred great. for the hard to reach areas use a tooth brush. just use common sence and whatever you do, do not used any corosives. i tried the salt/lemon idea on this horn before i used the cleaning stuff and it works like a charm but you have to get every bit of salt off or else... well, have you ever seen a car with no gel coat after a month in SanFrancisco? nuff said. i think it is better just to put a little elbo grease rather than risking your horn alltogether.

there's my 2 cents... i expect change! ;)
