I thought the same as Mark, at first.
I compaired the pics on the auction to pics of the 983, It appears to have a shorter tuning slide, shorter valve slides, and even the curle of pipe behind the valve section looks smaller, so I believe that yes, its in F.
I emailed the seller a few days ago about the horn (Was it cut? intonation, responce, general stuff), and I stil haven' gotten responce.
If it is in F, I assume it would be like a 983...in F.
