Even if the de-denting did not require buffing, there would be some metal stretching that would 'wash out' the sandblast texture. The plating is done AFTER the instrument is sandblasted. To make a repair job undetectable you would have have to strip the plating from the entire instrument... sand blast the repair to match the rest of the instrument, and have the entire instrument re-plated.
I like my satin horns, and I'll keep a couple of dents here and there.
