Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, WV is hosting it's 2nd annual conference on music of the Civil War era. Last year I think Jari Villinueva (sp) was a guest with a period brass ensemble. For more information contact Dr. Bruce Kelley at 304.876.5290 or Bkelley(AT)Shepherd.edu.
The conference is April 12 and 13th. Shepherd College is located about 1 1/2 hours northwest of Washington, DC and about 1 1/2 hours west of Baltimore, right across the Potomac river from Antietam Battlefield.
Even if you can't make the conference, Bruce is a great source for information on music of the era.
