I also make most of my living playing upright and elec.(mostly fretless) here in Nashville (I'm a native)and have been doubling(or 2nd doubling) on tuba off and on since finishing college('73). My major instrument was tuba and am mostly self taught on bass, go figure. Anyway, stay plugged into this board and get onto the tubaeuph list and you'll learn alot. It helped me come back to the horn with more enthusiasm talking with others who know what you need to know or are going through similar frustrations. Helped stave off bassist-burnout, too.
