I'm currently playing the newly revised Scottish National Opera version of Candide. In fact, it's going to be the Philadelphia premiere. The part's not challenging as a whole, and sits well on contrabass tuba. Berstein uses the tuba where string bass cannot cut it. It's a good part... although I long for Wagner Opera parts...
