Nope, the intonation's still "quirky", although I was surprised I'd written that it "stinks". Musta been a week at the orchestra with lots of exposed open tones ( i.e. non-tweakable using slides). I tried a BUNCH of mouthpieces on the Nirschl, and settled on a Klier 2C; better, but still pretty out. All that being said, even with lipping notes into tune, the sound is still far superior to all the other 6/4's I've played, including 5 Yorkbrunners.
I'd be curious to try one of Dillon's adjustable gap receivers to see if that would make a positive difference.
Other than that, as far as general response, timbre and playability, I'm entirely satisfied with this horn.
