Actually, it's pretty simple to see the IP address of the poster--just select "View Source" from your browser's menu and look at the first line. It'll look like
(in the case of Rick, anyway). The 4 numbers separated by periods constitute the IP address and pretty much give away the ID of the ISP's system. The moral of all of this is BE CAREFUL when you're on the web--you can be identified.
