Hi Joe - The only Conns I've played w/short action valves were a few years ago. The large bell one is sold and the smaller bell one was sold to a student of mine and later returned for a smaller "quintet" size instrument. Both instruments were/are great.

Matt just keeps getting better and better. My CC tuba is a rotory instrument that was built by him - most branches and bell are Buescher. This tuba just "fits" me better. Recently, I had the privilage of playing extra w/the CSO and Gene Pokorny was amazed as to how York-like this instrument played.

This new piston horn is a gem. Anyone who snaps it up is really getting a wonderful tuba.
