I am not an official Salvation Army Bandsman, but each Christmas, I join some other brass players in playing carols around the kettle outside of the malls. We usually get together 3 times a week between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The SA carol arrangements are for 5 parts, and they are very nice to play. It seems to us that people are a lot more generous when the band is playing- folding money instead of pocket chanage. It's a real good time amd a real good cause.
