I own Altieri, Protec and RB bags. I have a big gripe with the Protec in the way they attach their straps with snap hooks. It's pretty easy to catch one of these on your clothing and open the hook--and down goes your horn. The other problem is that the hooks are made of pot metal and will eventually fail. On my Protec, I removed the snap hook fittings where possible and threaded the straps directly through the sewn-in steel rings that the snap hooks attached to. You could also loop a threaded chain link from the hardware store in parallel with the snap hook.

My Protec's a 6/4 sized top-loader and I also cut a circle of 1/4" plywood and sewed it into the top as a bell protector. The flimsy plastic one that the bag is supplied with really doesn't do the job.

Overall, in quality of construction, I like the RB best.
