Hey Erik.. congrats on discovering Rudy horns. I play a different animal (the 5/4 rotor CC) but I recommend trying some PT mouthpieces. Try a PT50, or the PT 88. The 50 gives a little more "uumph" to your low range, which might open up those G's and below. The 88 is larger, and for my rudy, gives it a much warmer sound. On my 5/4 there's not much problem with low register. Who knows... you might find that after time, you'll overcome any troubles you're having with the low register. A lot of playing down there has to do with the air speed you put into it. Buzz those notes a lot, and you shouldn't feel much dificulty when the horn is in your face. Anyway... after that sidetrack.. congrats, and try PT mouthpieces.
