I had one of these 103's. If I'm correct it had a bore of 15,5 mm which is very small for Bb tuba. The 105 had a bore of 16,5 which is better. To compare the Bb 621 has a bore of 17.5mm. Bigger Cc all have bores like 19mm and even bigger on fourth and fifth valve.
The sound of the 103 is small like it's bore, more like a childrens horn . You don't need a lot of air to make it sound. Making the bore bigger is like building a new Tuba with a lot of costs.
