Ike,

I play on an old mirafone. I recently took my vavles apart and put Binack on them, but instead of improved performance, the action slowed down considerably. I then swithced to Al-Cass Fast. If you still want to do it here are the steps I use (Which are not neccessarily the right way):

1. Unscrew the linkages and bottom valve caps.
2. Remove the linkages so the spindle is exposed.
3. Lay the tuba on the floor valves side up, and place a soft towel over any tubing that might be in the way and to catch the rotors.
4. Find a wooden dowel and a hammer and placing the dowel on the spindle LIGHTLY tap the rotor out. The dowel will protect any of the metal parts from getting damaged.

Make sure that you mark the bottom casing and cover with a scratch, mirafone might have already done that. Use these marks to re-align the valves. To replace the valves, line the cap up with the case and again with the dowel lightly tap it back into place.
