The YBB103 was replaced by the YBB105. I'm not a Yamaha person, so I can't tell you what the improvement was, but these are both entry level horns. Great for kids because of size, OK for it's size/price. In my judgement, it would not improve by adding a 4th valve. I'd have to think the cost of doing it would be prohibitive as well. There are lots of pretty good 4 valve tubas in the $2K range. Leave the 103 as is, keep it if you can use a small horn, sell it otherwise and buy a 4 valve ready to play. I've seen 103's on ebay that have brought new horn prices, so you can get rid of it.
