I am VERY surprised you are having pitch problems with your 641. I have found them superior to almost everything in that regard. I think the stoch Conn Helleberg is a bit large for this instrument (it is afterall a 3/4 high-pitched tuba). Try the 7B version of the Conn. If that doesnt work, try the mpce that comes with the horn. After that, try the Yamaha Bobo Solo. THAT'S what Roger uses in his 641 (I think). If none of those mpces work, you'll need to spend some time with the tuning box to see EXACTLY where the pitch problems lie. Ask someone who's playing you respect to play the tuba and see if they have the same problems. What does you teacher say? Not likely you got a lemon as the Yamaslammers are pretty consistant.
