Considering the extent of the repairs that horn needs, why don't you consider a good used Mirafone like my 186CC? It is an early 90's, four valve with the ball and socket linkage. It's in great shape for a ten year old horn, the Lacquer is 95% intact with scratches in the usual places, the bottom bow and the first valve slide (ring marks). There are a few dings on the horn and a small dent or two on the bottom bow and on the bell (about what you would expect for a ten year old horn). The only other aging factor is the pull ring is missing from the #2 valve slide (it wasn't there when I purchased it). The bell has never been crunched.
