You are exactly right.
In the mid 60s and early 70s Custom
was bringing in CC tubas from them with
the name of Sanders. I believe Bob Whaley
played one -- and I know several of his students
are still playing these horns. They are excellent
4/4 four-valve (rotary) CC tubas.
Sometime later Custom was selling the Cervany piggy
with a Sanders name ....
Now Custom is abusing the once proud name of Sanders
Tubas with a line Chinese horns they call the
Sanders IMPERIAL.
