I would second the suggestion that a summer construction job is a better option than a loan. Almost ANYTHING is a better option than a loan. After you've paid back the loan with interest, you probably could have bought a CC AND an F Hirsbrunner. DO NOT GET AND USE A CREDIT CARD!!!
18-21% interest means that you will end up paying at least 3x market value for a horn that you will probably want to replace before it's paid off.
I realize that that doesn't offer much hope in the short-term, but believe me, in ten years, not paying a large student loan payment or credit card bill every month can be a huge blessing.
