He could probably do any of the above fairly easily. I learned to play tuba in school on a BBb, and then I bought an Eb for a great price so I played them both for quite a while. Now I own a CC and it didn't take me long to learn the fingerings on the CC I played a gig with it about a week after getting it. If he is willing to work on it I think he could learn the new fingerings in no time. Of course I don't have an F, I still have my Eb, and I use my CC almost exclusively. But that is just my take on learning a new horn.
