Sorry I neglected the Sawallisch/Bavarian Ring with Tucci, very much worth hearing for him , not so exciting otherwise. The Solti Ring was a landmark studio project with a great cast, and Solti as a pedal to the metal Wagnerian. I believe Alex's primary interest was the tuba part to Siegfried. Tucci was in Vienna on a Fulbright when Walkure and Gotterdammerung were recorded, and was called in a sub for those two operas. Someone else did Rheingold and Siegfried. For TUBA playing my recommendations for Siegfried stand with of course the addition of the Sawallisch.
