Admittedly I overplayed the arrogance bit, but I did so to emphasize my main point (mostly ignored) that complaints such as this are NOT appropriately discussed in a forum which is wide-open to the universe. They are, rather, appropriately taken up in private with the individual who one perceives (and I obviously strongly question the perception) as having executed some crap-in-the-horn-removing faux pas.

Although my point was better made painting myself as a mean and stuck-up old grouch (as I did) the actual truth is that (as long as someone purchased or rented their thing from me) I treat them like royalty...at least three (free) fairly extensive "while-you-wait" repairs just today, for instance (and you can see how I treat my ebay customers under seller: mid-southmusic). I was attempting to contrast my "unavailability" with the "generosity" of the person (clearly more qualified than me, anyway) being slandered.

The tuba specialist repair person being discussed is absolutely (and there has NEVER HAS BEEN ONE BEFORE) the "Hans Moennig"(1) of the tuba. Open slander of someone like this (who has pretty much devoted his life to discovering what makes tubas "tick" AND to BEING EXCEPTIONALLY NICE TO JUST ABOUT EVERYBODY - NO MATTER WHAT - is absolutely inappropriate. I don't give a flying flip about the "repair" industry, and have no interest in defending it. I will, however, defend an incredibly generous and talented tuba-specialist (Again, where else are you going to find a "tuba specialist"?) technician and friend.

Let's avoid anonymous slander, and if an issue such as this is important to us, let's privately confront the ONE PERSON who might need to be confronted. As to "Mr. Nobody" (or whatever it calls itself), let's move on to some fresh and more productive - topics. (scroll for footnote)
