Modern-day Yorks? They can't make that claim, though they could when Nirschl was still Boehm and Meinl, and B&M made pro-quality instruments for York in the 50's and 60's.

On the other hand, Nirschl makes the new Besson CC (at least the prototype), and Besson *can* call them a modern-day York, because Boosey and Hawkes owns the York name, and has since 1976. Not that they are doing so.

That Besson was getting rave reviews from all who played it at USABTEC, and I know a pro player who is in the process of buying it. That tells you what *he* thinks about it.
