rich is one of the few at that time playing that 4beat style. These days I know quite a few guys with those kind of chops. the secret is to use it as ONE of the tools in your bag of tricks, not all of them. On regular jobs, the rest of the rhythm section appreciates a balanced blend of different bass line styles, 2-beat, 4-beat, doubletime feel, new orleans second line ...etc
