Dave, I have both the original l.p. and another featuring "alternate takes" of all of the same tunes. You can tape them (with all of the "snap, crackle, and pop") next time you "blow" through town.
This was probably one of the very last recordings of Mr. Armstrong at the "tail end" of his "prime", although he continued to play INCREDIBLY well up until the time of his passing in the very early '70's.
Yeah, Rich "grabbed a-hold of my -ss" when I heard those takes (for the first time about 25 years ago) and I've adopted that style ever since.
