In the past, I have made mouthpieces for some of my horns from brass which I find has a slight amount (2-3%) of lead added to improve its machineability. I was wondering if the lead content poses any health risks. Am I being overly concerned about the lead, especially since the mouthpieces are eventually silver plated?
