My Weril does not have valve guides. It has "clickless" valves. The key is a white plastic disk that a rod runs through. Getting that disk in right is a little tricky and I worry about what it will be like in 30 years, but after one year of heavy use the valves are still great. In fact, I want to see if I can get a similar valve section to graft onto an older instrument. My only complaint is the fact that the stems unscrew easily. I found a kind of epoxy that hardens without being rock-solid, and that seems to do the trick.
