I had a Yorkbrunner for many years that I liked. I wanted to get another 6/4 more for a back up than anything else. Floyd Cooley let me get ahold of the Norschl that was doing its tour of the US. I really liked it and indeed I wanted to buy one. I tried EVERYTHING, the big PT wharever, Willson 5/4, Mirafone 1290, Yamaha 822, Rudy Meinl 5/4, 2165 Meinl. I preferred the Nirschl to all of 'em. THEN I had an opportunity to visit my cousin in Switzerland. While there, I went to Sumiswald to see Peter Hirsbrunner. The Yorkbrunners he had there were far superior to ANYTHING I had played before. Broad sound, PLENTY of presence, excellent pitch. One was available, so I bought one. I could NOT be happier with my purchase. The old one is gone and I am THRILLED with the new one.
